Coconut is a Tandy Radio Shack Color Computer emulator for PalmOS. For those of you not old enough, the CoCo was a popular 8-bit computer in the early eighties.Coconut emulates the CoCo, CoCo 2, Dragon 32, Dragon 64, and some variations on these models. Coconut is a work in progress, and as such the emulation is not yet 100% accurate. Some games simply do not run, and some run with a few glitches.
The following features are emulated:
- M6809 processor (0.895 Mhz).
- 4/16/32/64K RAM, with upper 32K bank switching on 64K models.
- Text, semigraphic (except SG6) and graphic modes, with artifacting.
- 16.7ms IRQ interrupt.
- Joysticks.
- Cassette input.
The following features are NOT emulated:
- 63.5us IRQ interrupt.
- Sound.
- Serial port.
- Cassete output.
- Cartridge specific hardware.
- Floppy drives.
- CoCo 3.
IMPORTANT: here are the requirements for running Coconut. It will NOT run if any of these is missing:
- A Palm compatible device with PalmOS 5 and ARM processor. Coconut will not run on the PalmOS Simulator.
- A high density color display (320x320).
- A memory card (SD/MMC, Memory Stick, etc).
- ROM files for the systems beeing emulated. ROM files are not distributed with Coconut.
